Mountain Lodge sits at the top of the Village, next to the main Ballhooter lift. The back door opens onto the top of the Upper Ballhooter trail, so the first run of the day starts on foot: walk out, click in, and ski down. Every VisitSnowshoe condo here is on the first floor: at 114 and 140 you step right out your door onto the snow, and at 144 and 146 it is just a few steps down the hallway. The Village shops and restaurants are steps away, and Split Rock Pools is close by.
The building has been through significant renovations, and it is staffed 24/7. A brand new general store is open every day until midnight, and the lobby has a large stone fireplace, pool table, and ping pong. A three-level adventure playground and synthetic ice rink also provide some family fun. Every condo has a full kitchen.
Location
Where it sits on the mountain.
Mountain Lodge is ski-in, ski-out from the back door, with the Ballhooter and Skidder chairlifts just outside. The Village is steps away, so most guests park once and walk everywhere.
In summer, bikes roll out of the free-to-guests bike garage onto the trails, and the lift brings riders and bikes back up to the building and its free bike wash station. The building has two comfy seating areas offering great overlook opportunities with views of the Allegheny Mountains and Shavers Lake below.
