Ski school, and where to stay for it.

Where you meet

Lessons and all-day programs meet right outside Expedition Station, steps from Seneca 113. That home has a porch door that opens into the Village, so a lesson morning is a walk, not a shuttle. The Mountain Lodge condos are in the same Village cluster.

For the 2026-2027 season, ski school is moving into the new Shavers Center. Check the confirmation for the exact meeting spot once that building is the home base. Until you have that note, plan on Expedition Station.

First-time kids

For a first-time kid, the all-day program is the one to book. By the end of the day, around 3 pm, they are usually ready to ski down the mountain with you and show off the new skills. If they are not quite there yet, head to Silver Creek. It is easier terrain, and it is quieter than the Basin.

Kids' programs include lunch and breaks. Ages, times, and what comes with the lesson are on the Snowshoe site.

Private lessons

A private lesson is a great investment, even for an early-season tune-up. Spend the money and get advice from someone who can watch you ski, not a guess from the chairlift. When you call Snowshoe for a reservation, ask for Karen Vanover. She is the best.

Book it before you arrive

Holiday weeks fill, so book the lesson before you leave home. The home listing does not reserve it for you.
